- One or a few childhood photographs
- A concise written story (roughly 400-500 words; about the amount that fits on a single 8.5x11 page in 14-point font).
Focus on the moments that shaped you, your passions, your challenges, and the aspects of your life you want expressed in art. These images and words become the spark—the blueprint—from which Michel will create your collage.
The key: You give Michel full artistic control.
She decides how to layer, skew, distort, and merge the elements of your story into a visual narrative that only she can create. If you’re looking to dictate colors, layouts, or specific imagery, this isn’t for you. But if you crave originality, risk, and a story told in a way only an artist’s eye can achieve—this is your moment.
Analog vs. Digital Collage
Many of the collage works in Michel’s portfolio are analog—hand-cut, physical pieces made from paper, textiles, and found fragments. These works are raw, tactile, and deeply intimate. For Keck's Life in Layer's collector commissions, Michel works primarily digitally, and here’s why:
- Merge, Skew & Manipulate Perspective: Photoshop allows Keck to skew and shift features or objects in ways you can not manipulate the photo in analog collage. This assists Keck to skew perspective to meld images together.
- Transparency and Layering: Keck can create stronger ethereal overlays and subtle depth through layer transparency changes offered in Photoshop that she can not obtain in normal collage simply can not replicate.
Digital collage allows Michel to fully realize your story—its emotion, symbolism, and depth—while maintaining her signature bold, layered, and intuitive voice.
Analog Collage remains valued for tactile textures and material presence, but is limited: no perspective manipulation, limited transparency, and less flexibility.

Optional Upsize After Completion:
Once your original collage is complete, you have the option to order it on a framed fine art paper or on gallery-wrapped canvas, in a variety of larger sizes. The price difference will apply for the larger format. This ensures your artwork can live as a bold, oversized statement if you desire, while keeping the initial commission process simple and clear.

If you prefer your story to remain entirely one-of-a-kind, you may select the Only Yours Forever License, which guarantees the following:
- It will never be offered for sale again
